TPE-S

TPE-S

  • Styrenic block copolymer-based TPEs are called as TPE-S. The most commonly used styrenic block copolymers are SEBS and SBS. The structure of styrenic block copolymers has a repetitive structure in blocks such as A-B-A. Blocks A in this structure represent hard group and blocks B represent elastomeric groups. SBS s are used in shoe soles due to their resistance to low temperature stretching and wear. SBS has low UV resistance and thermal stability. Gent does not produce SBS in any way due to its quality-oriented production logic. SEBS are stable and durable as UV and ozone resistance in case of saturation of the chemical bond structure. For this reason, they are resistant to weather conditions and high temperature.
  • They are used in the production of electrical cables due to their thermal stability, impact resistance and electrical properties
  • Because they are lightweight materials, they are used in the automotive industry, as they reduce production cost by replacing rubber and metal parts and indirectly reduce fuel consumption
  • They are used in soft touch tools
  • They are used in areas such as window profiles, gaskets etc.
